Sushi, sushi!!!

I made sushi today!!! Yeah, wondering why am I so free, well, "thanks" to HITLER! We have a week of holiday in conjunction with Hitler's birthday which falls on the 20th April. The skinheads and hooligans will be out usually around this date, so we are advised to stay indoor. The situation is rather bad this year as a Malaysian medical student studying in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia was hospitalized after being beaten by hooligans near his university. Sounds scary, right? That is why I stayed indoor to make sushi! *laugh hysterically* Anyway, I managed to snap some photos of my little "achievement".

Place the seaweed sheet on bamboo mat. With moistened hands, spread about 1/3 cup of prepared rice evenly over one side of each seaweed sheet, leaving 1-2 inches of the longer edge.

Then place crab sticks on top of the rice. Use finger to dot the rice with small amount of wasabi and mayonnaise alongside the crab sticks. With finger, spread the wasabi and mayonnaise on the rice to make thin line.

Starting with rice-covered edge, roll up each sheet. Roll the sushi evenly. Moisten seaweed edge with water and then press lightly to seal.

Cut sushi roll with sharp, thin-bladed knife using sawing motion and with very light pressure, slice each sushi roll crosswise into eight or more pieces. Simple, isn't it? =)

Balance and moderation in all things

I just read a motivation book and I decided to make some changes in myself, change for the better that is. Well, it's all about keeping my personal self "sharp" so that I can deal better with life. This means that I have to regularly renew and strengthen the suggested 4 key dimensions in life- body, brain, heart and soul!

According to the book:
1) Body or the physical dimension
-Exercise (I will start jogging now that it's spring!)
-Eat healthy
-Sleep well
-Relax

2) Brain or the mental dimension
-Read
-Educate
-Write (does blogging count? but sorry la, I'm lazy to blog that often)
-Learn new skills (still haven't decided what skill to learn, maybe hair cutting?
ahaha!)

3) Heart or the emotional dimension
-Building relationships
-Give service
-Laugh

4) Soul
-Keep a journal
-Pray
-Take in quality media

Balance is very important because the way you do in one dimension in life will definitely affect another. So if you feel both motivated and in tune with yourself, it's easier to focus on your studies and to me more friendly. This is what I am trying to do! =)
